Special Projects

Besides our "Typical" Packages we have done some custom work for customers who want something different but still would like the Newman Car Creations motto of "Classics Built to Perform". All the cars that you see here, with the exception of the 34 Ford, have chassis that have been converted to accept the C-4 Corvette suspension.  As you can see we are not afraid of going against the grain and doing something different. The tandem independent rear suspension of the 33 Ton and a half Chevy truck is a great example of this. We always have a fun time undertaking new projects and like the challenge of making a world-class driving machine out of something that was not originally built to do so.

One of our latest projects was a 1968 Camaro that we installed the independent Corvette rear suspension on.  This was a fun project with more space constraints than any of the other conversions we have done to this point.  Our answer was to install the shocks in the trunk of the car using a cantilever/ push rod style setup.  The result turned out clean and functional.

We installed the Global West front A-arms and Turn One steering box to help update the front end.  We also replaced the stock 3 speed with a Magnum 6 speed giving the car a much need boost in performance.  This car now goes down the road with no drama and soaks up the bumps like a modern car should.  The rear end worked out so well we are looking forward to doing another one and coupling the C-4 front suspension with it.  We feel that the Corvette front suspension with its superior geometry and rack and pinion steering will only make these cars better!

Here is a video of the Camaro and what you would see if you were to look in the rear view mirror.
